A girl from Dharan has been committed suicide.Preeti Mukhiy,26yearold girl wrote suicide note mentioning that she got betrayal on her relationship. However, she left the note without mentioned the name who betrayed her. Local police was informed byher elder sister.According to her elder sister preeti was in relation with Sagar Khadka who is the primary school teacher at Dharan. Deputy superintendent (DSP) Sanjay Shing Thapa said the incident is yet to be investigate.He was not able to conform the relation of the girl mr.Khadka. The suspect "Sagar khada" also has spoken after the death of girl. He said," she was his just friend and he said had a affair with another man who is in Qatar.It is also known that they met just a month ago and proposed to marry but the proposal was refused by girl. The investigation is yet to be done.
Suicide is increasingly being recognised as a global public health concern. Every year an estimated 800,000 people commit suicide worldwide (Prince et al 2007), putting the global suicide mortality rate at 16 per 100,000 (WHO 2012). Furthermore, whilst many other health indicators, such as those included in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), have been slowly, but steadily improving, the global rate of suicide has risen by 60% in the last 45 years (WHO 2010). WHO predict that suicide will account for 2.4% of the total global burden of disease (GBD) by 2020 (Yeh et al 2010), thus is becoming a pressing health concern and funds may need to be redirected to reflect this.
